Queen of Belgium is ill

August 3, 1891

Queen Marie-Henriette of the Belgians visited Princess Charlotte, the former Empress of Mexico at the Chateau Bouchoute.  She found the former Empress to be "in an exited state," and was "so much affected that she was seized with a nervous fit," and fainted.  The Queen "regained consciousness slowly."  The Dean of Laeken was summoned shortly after the queen fainted, and he "administered extreme unction."

Queen Marie-Henriette is "now in a trouble sleep."  Her condition is described as critical, and her husband, King Leopold II, has been summoned from Ostend.
