Heading back across the Pond?


Crown Princess Marie Chantal of Greece gave a bit of news in her Instagram account today:  apparently, the family is moving to (or rather back to) New York City.

They have bought an apartment on Madison Avenue in the 70s, according to Crown Prince Pavlos who told New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams when were both attending an event hosted by former New York Governor George Patacki in January.

Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie Chantal lived for several years in New York City and in Connecticut before moving into 6 Cheyne Walk, a Grade II listed house, built in 1718.  The house overlooks the Thames River.

They moved to London in 2003 to be closer to Pavlos' parents, King Constantine II and Queen Anne Marie, who lived in Hampstead.  The king and queen now live full time in Greece.

In a 2015 interview in Hello magazine,  Princess Marie Chantal said: "I feel at home in the UK, probably because I grew up in Hong Kong when it was still under British rule.  I have a British passport. But I also feel very influenced by my husband's culture.  All of these roots have made me someone who is very adaptable."

The princess was born in London.  Her father, Robert Miller, was born in the United States, but acquired British citizenship in the late 1960s.  He


The Princess renounced her U.S. citizenship in the summer of 2011, according to the Federal Register.  She is listed in the official notice as as Chantal of Greece, Marie.

The couple also have a country home, Beale House in West Sussex in England.  Marie Chantal found the weekends in the country to be "relaxing."  Crown Prince Pavlos enjoyed the "hunts with the hounds."

Beale House also a Grade II listed house.

Crown Prince Pavlos is the co-founder of a London-based  investment fund.

The couple's eldest child and only daughter, Princess Maria-Olympia attends the New School in New York City.

During their previous residency in New York City, the family lived in an apartment near Central Park and spent weekends at Gray Ashes, their country home, in Washington, Connecticut.

The couple have five children:  Princess Maria Olympia, 20, Prince Konstantine-Alexios, 18,  Prince Achileas-Andreas, 16, Prince Odysseus-Kimon, 12, and Prince Aristidis-Stavros, who will celebrate his ninth birthday in June.
